Pat Pow-apongkul, April 9, 2007

It took only a few hours for the Wharton Class of 2009 to realize that Pat Pow-apongkul, our Pick of the Week for April 9, has a weird last name and more importantly isn’t the average Whartonite. On his first day of orientation, Pat had the entire freshmen class laughing as he pranced around the stage acting like a hyper-active cheerleader to take first prize in a group-skit competition. His antics have only gotten funnier and more recognized. Pat is known as the “wacky asian force to be reckoned” with in Mask & Wig. Like most Penn students, Pat has gotten swept up in the health-craze and has of lately been frequently spotted in the “Thigh, Glute and Abs” class at Pottruck. He has a fondness for penguin outfits, twister, and beatboxing – and also brings in extra cash as a male stripper (hint: post on his Facebook wall for hiring information). He also just turned 20 a few days ago! On a more serious note, he is a Thai southerner from Douglas, Georgia and also a member of the Student Federal Credit Union (SFCU). Ultimately, Pat is just a bundle of fun with a very square head.
